ATHERTON ITALIAN COUNTRY ESTATE
This home was designed for a park like setting on a wooded lot, with formal living spaces opening to a courtyard and a raised terrace overlooking a lawn and stand of oak and redwood trees beyond. The front entry door opens to a flight filled stair hall and fountain courtyard, with entertaining spaces flanking the entry hall. An informal family wing extends into the rear yard on one side, overlooking a swimming pool and guest house. Understated details from classic Italian residential architecture contribute to a calm, quietly classical design.
